Another term in blackjack is surrender. If the player feels that the cards dealt to them are not good and the chances of winning are less, they can call for surrender. By surrendering their cards, they lose half of the amount they bet. But of course this is only allowed in the real casinos and not on online casinos.
The real casinos recognize the poor hand situation, and ill allow you to back away from a bad hand. Some online casinos also allow you to do so. This will prolong you stay in the game and not end your session of betting too soon. It's also present the more "fair" aspect of the game, and will built some confidence to the player moving forward with his bets.
