When Barbara Enright became the first woman ever to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2007, she was hailed as the first woman ever to have advanced to the final table of the WSOP Main Event. She eventually won three WSOP bracelets during her career, and the first woman ever to win an open event. Now, with the list of 2011 finalists, two women will be looking to triple the female membership in the Poker Hall of Fame—Annie Duke and Jennifer Harman.
Duke has had a fabulous career in professional poker, with one WSOP bracelet and the 2004 WSOP Tournament of Champions title under her belt. Duke is now the commissioner of the fledgling Epic Poker League set to debut on national television in October 2011.
Harman is considered by many to be the best-ever cash game female player of all time. She has totaled two WSOP bracelets and $2.6 million in career tournament winnings during her exceptional career. A 17-member media panel plus the 18 living Poker Hall of Famers will be tasked with choosing the Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2011, if any at all. Voting results will be released in late October.
